About Commodity Merchandising
Do you often wonder where all of that grain in rail cars is going? With an E-Degree in Commodity Merchandising, you鈥檒l know! This option will prepare you to buy and sell commodities in the cash market, coordinate grain transportation, and offer financial advice. You’ll also set prices and purchase commodities for grain elevators on a local level. After completing the coursework, you鈥檒l earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Commodity Merchandising.

How does an E-Degree work?
As a Commodity Merchandising E-Degree student, you’ll take online courses through Lake Area Tech’s eLearning system. Most of your time learning will be done at home, so you鈥檒l only spend limited time on our campus completing projects. But when you do, you鈥檒l be learning in our new Ag Center!
Why an E-Degree?
Lake Area Tech E-Degrees are 鈥渉ybrid鈥 – an innovative blend of distance and on-campus learning. What鈥檚 great about that is you can keep your day job (work, raise kids) and still get a degree. With hybrid education, you get maximum flexibility to study when and where you want, but you鈥檒l still get the chance to work on-campus with Lake Area Tech instructors on selected projects.
How long will it take?
