Sanford Health Investment in ΜΗΠΔ΄«Γ½βs Surgical Technology Program Announced
WATERTOWN, SD β A new partnership between ΜΗΠΔ΄«Γ½ (LATC) and Sanford Health will bring state-of-the-art equipment to the schoolβs Surgical Technology program.
Sanford Health announced its $500,000 investment during Thursdayβs Governorβs Luncheon at LATC. As a Cornerstone Partner, Sanford Healthβs gift will provide the necessary match to maximize equipment grants appropriated by the South Dakota Legislature during its most recent session.
The funding supports construction of LATCβs Surgical Technology Learning Center and will equip students with advanced technology used in real-world surgical environments. The center is fully funded, ensuring there is no added financial burden for current or future students.
βSanford Health is proud to support ΜΗΠΔ΄«Γ½ and its mission to provide superior, comprehensive technical education that changes lives and launches careers,β said Eric Hilmoe, Chief Operating Officer of Sanford Health. βInvesting in surgical technology education strengthens our workforce pipeline so that graduates are well-prepared to meet the needs of our communities.β
LATC launched its Surgical Technology program in 2023, and it has since attracted strong and growing student interest. The new learning center is scheduled to open in August 2025.
βWe are incredibly grateful for Sanford Healthβs generous support,β said Tiffany Sanderson, President of ΜΗΠΔ΄«Γ½. βThis investment will have a lasting impact on our students, faculty, and healthcare throughout the region as we educate skilled surgical technicians who are ready on day one of their careers.β
Sanford Health and LATC share a commitment to fostering education and workforce development, ensuring that students are equipped for success in the healthcare industry. Sanfordβs support at the Cornerstone partnership level indicates a contribution of $500,000 and above.
